Have you ever had questions or concerns about the AC in your home? Today we will be reviewing some of the most commonly asked questions about AC’s and how to resolve the issues with your system. At Washington Court House Heating & Cooling, we are here to assist you with all of your AC questions and concerns.

What Is The Best AC For My Home?

Investing in a high-efficiency system will leave your home feeling the most comfortable and save you the most money on energy costs. Although there are numerous brands to choose from when it comes to purchasing an AC, not all brands are manufactured the same. Doing your research on different brands and companies manufacturing AC’s will help you accurately determine what system you would like and who you want to install it into your home. Ensuring a proper installation will set your home up for comfort for years to come.

Why won’t my AC turn on?

One of the first things you should do when your AC doesn’t turn on is to check the breakers in your home. If a breaker has been tripped or switched off, make sure to completely flip the switch off and then flip it back on. If the breaker is on and your AC still will not turn on, try checking the batteries in your thermostat. Check that no battery acid has leaked into your thermostat. If there is no battery acid, replace the batteries in your thermostat. If you still find that your AC will not turn on, it might be time to give the professionals a call.

Why Is My AC Freezing Up?

A variety of problems could be the result of your AC freezing up. The first thing you should do is to check the air filter in your AC. Dirty air filters limit the air traveling across the system’s evaporator coils which will cause ice to form on your AC. High stress will be put on your compressor, blower motor, and other equipment inside if your AC freezes up. Your AC is at risk for inevitable problems and damages such as compressor failure, refrigerant leaks, and motor failure if this problem is not addressed straight away. If you are still experiencing problems even with a clean air filter, it is best to have a professional diagnosis from there.

Why Is There No Air Blowing Through My AC?

If you find that your AC is not blowing air, as previously mentioned, the first thing you should do is check the batteries in your home’s thermostat. If you have replaced the batteries or are already functioning, the next step is to check your breakers. Flipping the breakers will allow all of the electronics in your home to reset. However, if flipping the breaker still did not help with the problem at hand, to prevent inevitable repairs, it is best to call up the professionals to take a look at your AC.
